About W.O. Mitchell Ltd
|
Bill and Merna Mitchell formed W.O. Mitchell Ltd. in 1956 when they were negotiating a major contract with the Canadian Broadcasting Company and the National Film Board to write scripts for a Jake and the Kid television series. They were advised to form a company which owned all of Mitchell's literary rights and income from writing royalties, performance fees, and creative writing teaching. W.O. was President, Merna was Secretary Treasurer, and they ran the company up to their deaths in 1998. Since then, their children (Orm, Hugh, and Willa) have continued the company business looking after W.O. Mitchell's literary, stage, television, and film rights. For available rights, click HERE.
